Stepping Outside

Late on Saturday night, as I was taking out the trash, I decided to just look up and notice the dark and clear sky above me. It was then that I realized that I haven't even intentionally looked up at the sky in who knows how long.

With the LSAT having my undivided attention, my mind was on default study mode. Wake up. Study. Eat. Go to work. Eat. Come home. Study. Go to sleep. Repeat. But now, with the LSAT behind me, my mind is a quiet place, one where actual thoughts other than logic can live. As I stood out just looking at the sky, my mind still, I realized that while I was in default study mode, the world was in motion like it always is. Life was persisting like it always does. Not everyone has a clear night's sky to look up to. I could consider myself a lucky Californian on Saturday night. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it's a somber time in California thanks to the most recent wildfires. 

So, I guess what I am trying to get at is that while life can get pretty hectic and consuming, whenever you get the chance to get out of your own head, appreciate where you're at and don't forget that there are others all around us who would rather be taking their trash out on a Saturday night.
