Lists are Cool

So I think it is pretty apparent that my life is centered on all things law school. At the moment, I am still waiting for all of my admission decisions to roll in, and as they do (and don't) the anxiety continues to incrementally build.

As a participant in one of the most tumultuous law school application cycles (if you're like me and you're on Reddit then you already know), it is hard to keep your mind off of the what if's -- what if's that, in fact, can drive you insane.

So I'm starting to make lists of things I want to do and learn, places I want to visit, and goals I want to achieve before the waiting game is finally over and I actually have to start planning for the next 3 years of my life...

Here's a snippet of my list (so far):

  • Cook more!
As much as I love food (the axis on which I rotate everyday), I barely cook! A rather common millennial problema, I do enjoy the process of cooking when I actually do, so instead of hitting up the hot place on Yelp or popping into a random restaurant just 'cause, I want to start cooking more of the recipes I love, and more of the recipes I don't know I love yet.
In college, reading became a chore (English major problemas), but now reading has once again become a pleasant escape from the daily grind. Instead of defaulting to Netflix, I'm going to start knocking some books off the shelf and do a deep dive into the books that are just collecting dust at this point. After finishing my current venture, my first stop will be Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.
  • Watch more movies!
You didn't think I was actually going to stop watching Netflix, right? If you're a film-lover like I am, then movies are never off of the table. I have so many films on my "watch-list," but one I've been dying to re-watch again is Biutiful.
  • Go outside more!
If you have a full-time job like I do, it's hard to get your butt outside and do outdoor activities when all you want to do when you get home from work is visit your long-lost friend: the b-e-d. And when you live in such a gorgeous state like California, it really starts to become a shame how often I'm not outside enjoying this beautiful state. So just being outside, whether I'm at the beach or on some trails, is something I'm making more time for.

So there you have it, my list. Lists are cool.
