The Glimmer Train sisters said it best, "There is no such thing as a profitable literary journal. To the best of our knowledge, all surviving literary journals are supported by universities and/or by individuals who love short fiction and are willing to put their own time and money into them."
In the short two years that iō has been alive, we have made great strides toward reaching as many writers and artists as possible. At the moment, we do charge submission fees, which helps publishing our contributors in an annual volume possible. All submission fees collected go directly to creating the subsequent volume. All other expenses of running a literary journal are shouldered by us. The iō editors are devoted to being financially capable of paying our contributors in the next few years. But we need your support to make this goal feasible. If you support this goal as well as our mission to showcase diversity and underrepresented individuals with unique voices and experiences, then please consider sponsoring one of the categories below.
Thanks!
