Can we reschedule?
Poetry by M.L Mendoza
We’re busy.
Even when the world shut down, we figured out how to keep moving.
Essential services continued to operate, but now the cogs in the system are breaking.
Or perhaps the system has always been broken, just we’ve always been busy.
Now, meetings are back in offices, but some offices are permanently at home.
We’re meeting people at a breakneck pace, to make up for lost time and to remember the ones
that we lost.
Expectations are the same, we’re busy trying to reach them.
Every day, people break.
(We’re so tired.)
How much longer will we be busy?

How much longer will we be busy?
