About the Artist
Picture
Born to Argentinean parents of European and Indigenous descent, the self-described "Argentinean hybrid" was raised in La Plata. In 1999 she relocated to New York. The move had a profound impact on her when her sense of identity became one of increased complexity as she relocated to a land with a significantly different culture that the one she knew. She is an interdisciplinary artist working across the mediums of installation, textiles and social practice. Justo received a M.F.A. from the La Plata National University. She has been granted numerous awards and residencies and has exhibited extensively in galleries and museums in the US and abroad.
