Within the Night

Poetry by Judy DeCroce

a warming silence approaches,
the air moves, shifting,
around a steady crowd of ghosts

some forget their partners
as shadows lock together

my open eyes focus
on a tiny light
that only shines here--
drifting, unfinished.
