You in Barcelona
Poetry by Amy Pugsley
A broken bottle of Cava in the entrance
smashed to a million pieces
so many bags and bodies
up the elevator
The kind of make your heart stop
beating for a second
The kind of make your mind wander off
to a new life for a second
The kind of wish you could
just be the person that lives in this house
for a second
For a few minutes
For a few hours
A new bottle of Cava in the kitchen
popped and poured into three glasses
A few nights are better than nothing
A taste of what a foreign version of you
could have been
would have been
Jump in the car
We are going to Taco Bell
smashed to a million pieces
so many bags and bodies
up the elevator
The kind of make your heart stop
beating for a second
The kind of make your mind wander off
to a new life for a second
The kind of wish you could
just be the person that lives in this house
for a second
For a few minutes
For a few hours
A new bottle of Cava in the kitchen
popped and poured into three glasses
A few nights are better than nothing
A taste of what a foreign version of you
could have been
would have been
Jump in the car
We are going to Taco Bell
