Days like today (Memorial Day) are ones that cause me to reflect on everything I am grateful for, like my family, friends, health and security, and overall well-being.
But I think it is easier for people to reflect on the tangible things they are grateful for than on things and people who have not manifested. So something I am starting to practice is what I can only think to call grateful projection: projecting gratitude towards your future, otherwise unbeknownst to you.
So today, I am not only grateful for those who have served and fallen in protecting the United States and protecting my livelihood, but I am also grateful for whatever my future holds (hopefully more IO Lit, joy, and new challenges) and the individuals who will continue to protect and serve this country and many other people's futures too.
What are you grateful for, and what are you projecting gratitude towards?
Eldest sister of three amazing women (1 woman; 2 little women). On a more ambitious note, I am planning on attending law school next fall (school TBD), so my future consists of working as an attorney, eating pasta, becoming a dog mom, and feeding pasta to my future dog child.
